7 x Instagram photo spots in Prague

The Czech capital is simply super photogenic. If you want to create content for your Instagram account or blog (or just shoot cute pictures for your scrapbook), this city is definitely the place to be. Together with Ernestina, I was in the city for three days to enjoy, but also to work on our blogs. I am happy to share my favorite Instagram photo spots in Prague.

Rooftopbar Terasa U Prince

Hotel U Prince’s rooftop terrace has been described as one of the most popular Instagram photo spots in Prague. Chances are that you have seen pictures of this on Instagram. During my city trip with Ernestina, a visit to the most beautiful roof terrace in Prague could not be missed. We went for lunch at Terasa U Prince and took lots of pictures of the beautiful view.
The terrace is popular among influencers and photographers, so if you only want to go upstairs to take pictures, you have to pay a small fee. You can also choose to have drinks on the terrace (I recommend making a reservation) or have lunch. Drinks on the terrace are not that expensive (by Dutch standards), so I would go for a drink on the rooftop terrace in Prague anyway. We chose the lunch option, and I enjoyed a delicious truffle pasta.

Bakery petite France

This French bakery in the center of Prague is not only super photogenic, but you can also go here for delicious cakes! The bakery stands out because of its light green facade and the French style of the building. So this is why we stopped here, to take pictures. (Coincidentally, my dress was the same color as the facade). When we looked in through the window, we immediately got excited by all the delicious cakes and sandwiches. We ordered a lemon meringue pie and a slice of speculoos cheesecake. We could take pictures of ourselves on the terrace with the cake. (And the cheesecake was also the most delicious cheesecake I’ve ever eaten!)

Starbucks Prague Castle

When we saw an Instagram reel about the Starbucks near Prague Castle we immediately knew, this is where we want to go! The Starbucks on Castle Hill in Prague has a large terrace with stunning views of the city. For me, the perfect place in the city to enjoy a coffee. One downside, there is very little space inside so this is not an ideal tip for a rainy day. When I sat here with Ernestina it was drizzling a bit, so we sat cozy under an umbrella. Of course, we took dozens of photos at this place as well.

Staromestske Namesti Prague

While you can overlook Prague’s most famous square from the rooftop terrace at Terasa U Prince, you can also just take pictures at the square itself. The square is surrounded by beautiful buildings, so whatever angle you take the picture from, the view is beautiful. The market is one of the most popular places in Prague, so you can tell by the amount of people. So for a good photo without photobombers, you just have to have a little patience. Or you have to get to the square very early in the morning.

Best view on the Charles Bridge

The Vltava River flows right through the center of Prague. To get to the other side of the water, several bridges were built. The most famous bridge is the Charles Bridge. And of course this bridge is an Instagram spot in Prague in itself, but keep in mind that it is always very crowded here. In that regard, you are better off going to park Cihelná. From this park, on the banks of the Vltava River, you have an actual view of Charles Bridge. Here it is a lot quieter than on the bridge itself ánd so you can also take a nice picture of the bridge.

Dancing House

One of the most iconic buildings in Prague is the dancing house. It seems that everyone who visits Prague also comes to see this building. The building itself is supposed to represent a dancing couple. On the top floor of the building is a rooftop bar where you can drink cocktails. Other than that, it is “just” used as an office. So as a tourist you can’t just go inside (and I don’t think there is much to see inside either). Still, you can take some nice pictures in front of the dancing house. Posing in front of the house, but a photo where you walk across the crosswalk is also a nice idea.

Bridge over the river

No matter which bridge in Prague you walk across, the view is beautiful. Look at the buildings along the banks of the river and the hills in the distance. I myself have stood extensively taking photos on Jiráskův Most. That’s the bridge opposite the Dancing House. Here you can pose with Prague Castle in the background or just the colorful buildings on Masarykovo nábř.

Instagram photo spots in Prague

The above spots are all ideal if you want to take beautiful photos in Prague. But of course, the entire center is photogenic and you can have fun as a photographer on every street corner. Are there any Instagram spots in Prague that also belong on this list? Let us know in the comments below.
